U15 Canadians Pick Up a Victory in Warrior AAA U15 Ultimate Challenge

The U15 AAA Greater Vancouver Canadians had a bye week in the BCEHL schedule over the weekend, but were busy on the ice as they participated in the Warrior AAA U15 Ultimate Challenge in Kelowna.


The Canadians played five games between Thursday and Sunday at Kelowna's MNP Place, winning their final contest on Sunday, in a tournament that featured top U15 teams from the Pacific Northwest and California. 


One of the Canadians’ highlights came on Sunday, as they scored 12 goals against CDA Hockey Academy, with Brian Woolfenden leading the way with three goals and three assists. Noah Tait and Maxwell Clemens each added two goals, while Leander Han added a goal and two assists. 


Two days earlier, the Canadians also had a strong offensive performance, taking a 5-3 lead against Wenatchee before ultimately losing in overtime. In that game, Woolfenden had two goals and an assist, while Tait, Markus Sivak, and Caden Chou also scored.

  • Saturday, Dec. 7: Valley West Giants 4, GVC 1

  • Sunday, Dec. 8: GVC 12, CDA Hockey Academy 14U 1


The U15 Canadians return to league action on Dec. 14-15 in a home-and-home series against the U15 Vancouver NW Hawks. Saturday’s game is at the Richmond Oval at 2:30 p.m., and Sunday’s contest is at the Canlan Ice Sports North Shore at 12:15 p.m.
